On the way to work this morning my fuel gauge went from 1/2 a tank to zero in about 1 min I know I have at least 1/2 of fuel. I just had the fuel pump changed could that have something to do with it?? Im guessing there is a sensor in the tank??

Glad that its working again and hopefully its a one-off event.

Just for your info the in tank pump and float assembly does come apart into several pieces. Its been a while since I pulled one apart but from memory the float unit separates from the main pump unit and electrically there are several connectors that you push on to power up the sender unit. There is a small connector board on the inside of the pump unit which has 4 connectors - two for the sender and two for the pump. You then remove the base of the plastic pump unit to reveal the pump itself and it just pulls out. Install is just the reversal so new pump in, re-attach the base then screw the sender unit to the side and push on the electrical connectors and put it back in the tank.

If it re-occurs you might want to check if you're getting a signal from the sender first before you drop the tank and remove the pump. The sender wire to the dash is a red/white one.

This week it's an RS MK2, next week hopefully the same but with S40 and Kuga DNA.
Just hope I live long enough to finish the build!
